TACO BELL LESSONS

Image
Very very busy last couple of weeks!! Our momentum took a turn for the worst on Monday, because I tested positive for Covid. Now we are quarantined until Saturday, which SUCKS! I've been really sick too, losing all my energy every time I get out of bed. It has not been fun. But let me tell you, I have been getting FRAJAS! Aka Free Baja Blasts (my Aggie friends know whats up). There is a guy we met knocking on doors at this sketchy motel and he was in a rush to get to work but said he was interested. We got talking and turns out he works at the Mexican food mecca of the world... Taco Bell! ;) We have been teaching him at work and he promised us "free Baja Blasts for life". I love our Taco Bell lessons with John!  We are teaching this guy from Turkey named Enver and he is AWESOME!!! We also teach him at work! In between waiting tables, he will run outside and we will teach him for a few minutes and then he runs back in. Unlike most people out here, he doesn't know much ...

I'M TRAINING?!

Transfers were last Friday and we hopped on our call and they said "Sister Pratt you are staying in Branson" YAY! I LOVE BRANSON!! Then they continued to say "and you'll be training" I WAS LIKE AIN'T NO WAY THEY ARE HAVING ME TRAIN AFTER 1 TRANSFER WHAT HAHA?! Then, I found out who I'd be training and I immediately got so hyped. My trainee is Sister Reese, who lived in my building at Utah State and was actually in my ward!!! So crazy!! Sister Reese and I got dinner at the yummiest bbq restaurant on the strip called, Getting Basted. Their fried onion and brisket was unmatched. Naturally, we invited the server to church and he emphatically said "YES!", he told us that he hadn't been invited to a church in his 6 years of living in Branson and he has been anxiously waiting on the day :) Another miracle- we were studying at the park when a man came strolling by whistling. We complimented his whistling, asked him his name... And he ended up talki...

PUMPKIN SPICE SERMON

Image
Hello friends!  During General Conference, Elder Gary B. Sabin said "I love the smell of tobacco at church because it means someone is trying to change" and being that now 4/4 people we have on baptism date smoke... I thought how cool is that statement!? These people want to quit so bad, and seeing their efforts is so inspiring. It hit me so hard because these past few weeks I feel like I've been more of a drug counselor than a missionary haha.  There is a Methodist Church on the Branson Strip that is advertising "pumpkin spice sermons!", and you guys don't understand how badly I want to go, like what does that even mean? Whatever it is, I'm sold! We did an exchange with the Spanish Sisters we live with and I got to be there for some quick Spanish lessons. I got a taste of what it feels like to be completely out of the loop on what's being said, so now I feel for all my best friends out there learning languages (YOU ARE AMAZING)!  My comp has been pr...
