PUMPKIN SPICE SERMON
Hello friends!
During General Conference, Elder Gary B. Sabin said "I love the smell of tobacco at church because it means someone is trying to change" and being that now 4/4 people we have on baptism date smoke... I thought how cool is that statement!? These people want to quit so bad, and seeing their efforts is so inspiring. It hit me so hard because these past few weeks I feel like I've been more of a drug counselor than a missionary haha.
There is a Methodist Church on the Branson Strip that is advertising "pumpkin spice sermons!", and you guys don't understand how badly I want to go, like what does that even mean? Whatever it is, I'm sold!
We did an exchange with the Spanish Sisters we live with and I got to be there for some quick Spanish lessons. I got a taste of what it feels like to be completely out of the loop on what's being said, so now I feel for all my best friends out there learning languages (YOU ARE AMAZING)!
My comp has been pretty sick the past couple weeks and there has been a few days where we haven't been able to leave the apartment. We were at a members house for conference and she got sick. So in between sessions I hung out with this old lady in our ward, and now I crochet and play the organ??... God is really magnifying my abilities out here. Its been tough with my comp being sick because recently I've had to singlehandedly carry some of our lessons, member meals, knocking doors. I didn't think I'd be taking the lead so quick on my mission, but it has taught me SO MUCH. And my comp and I get along really well so its tough seeing her go through all this. Please keep her in your prayers!
Anyway, love you all! I'm sorry if I haven't responded to your email! But I love your messages so much! Keep L-I-V-I-N :)
