TACO BELL BAPTISM

HI!!!

Eric got baptized on Saturday!!! Wahooo!!! Taco Bell is the promised land and the gospel is true! Such a special day watching the whole ward show up as well as some of his coworkers from Taco Bell! He said the decision to be baptized was the best one he has ever made :) 

John was supposed to get baptized on Saturday, he passed his baptismal interview and everything... he was so ready. Then we get a call from him yesterday... drunk. He was not in a good place, so we gave him the rest of the day and called him back when he sobered up. He said how heartbroken he is that he messed up so bad. We have to push his baptism back now which is extremely sad, especially knowing how much the 23rd meant to him. And me? I'm shattered. Transfers are next week and I'm most likely leaving Branson, which means I wont get to go to his baptism. Life goes on, and I know he will be baptized soon so it will be A-Okay! But super bummer of a night yesterday that's for sure. 

I read this quote from an Elder Holland talk called "Be Ye Therefore Perfect- Eventually". It hit home!! I love love love it.

"Attack me, if you wish, I do this myself, but don’t attack … the path I follow. … If I know the way home but am walking along it drunkenly, is it any less the right way simply because I am staggering from side to side?"

Anyway, Christmas here in Branson has been MAGICAL!! If you're going to be away from home for Christmas, Branson Missouri is the place to be!! The family Christmas shows are THE BEST!! There are lights everywhere and Santa Claus even hangs out on the strip. I'm going to some Christmas parties this weekend with our investigators and I am so hyped!!!

Home!  I am at a loss for words as I write this final email. My mission has refined me and helped me become what God wants me to be. I have never felt such immense love for Jesus Christ. And I have never felt such joy than I have from serving Him. I love my Savior and best friend, Jesus Christ.  As a lot of you know, Arkansas was not my dream mission. Days up until my mission I wondered if this truly was God's plan for me. A year and a half later, and I can say with confidence that I wouldn't trade getting called here for the world. This experience changed my life. The people of Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas hold a special place in my heart forever. I'm so glad I decided to serve.  Nothing beat closing out my mission at Zak's baptism just two days before I left. He shared how God has been his Guide and Jesus has been His light. I MADE IT TO ARKANSAS!

Guess what guess what?! After a year on the mission, I'm finally serving in Arkansas!  I was not expecting to leave exile island after 1 transfer, but I guess God knew I couldn't do the lack of socializing for too long haha. Although, I was bummed to leave Sister Sloan... it was too good to be true being back together again. I'm now serving in Pea Ridge, Arkansas! It's so cute! I'm also finishing training a new sister to the mission, Sister Fuller! I live in Bentonville and get to drive past the temple every night yay! The members here are powerful and I'm excited to get to know them!  As I got thinking about being transferred here, I remembered how much I love change. It keeps you on your toes! I love getting to fall in love with a new town, a new people, a new ward, and a new companion! I'm so happy to be here in Arkansas!! Woo Pig! Remember how much God loves you!  Keep L-I-V-I-N!! LIFE IS GOOD

Hey everyone!  Happy Thanksgiving! This week has been so good! We taught some fun lessons and we are having a blast. I am so grateful!  Watching Colby (who was baptized on November 15th) bless the sacrament this past week was a surreal experience that I'll never forget. This is why I am here. These moments make every bad one worth it. I love this work! Time is flying by! Wow. I've been trying my best to live in the present and just make the most of this last transfer. I saw this quote from Elder Wirthlin that said "worrying about the future creates unhappiness in the present". It couldn't be more true! I'm excited for what is to come but grateful for every second that I have left to wear my Savior's name on my chest. Also, if no one has told you that they are proud of you this week... God is!!
