HELLOOOOO BRANSON MISSOURI
I have made it to the field!!! P-day is now on Wednesdays! I flew into Bentonville on Thursday with 20 other missionaries and we met our President. He is so great! I got called to the Branson West area! This place is so classic, the whole town is old western theme and you can go mine for gold or explore caves. There is also different themed mini golf on EVERY. CORNER.
WE GET FED EVERY NIGHT BY MEMBERS! It is so so nice and I love our ward so much. We even got fed twice yesterday. Some elders in our district hid their member meal calendar from their ward because they were gaining so much weight... might have to do that soon haha!
A good chunk of town is ran by members of our church and half of them are in the country jubilees or family shows on the strip, I am absolutely living for it. I even ate dinner at one of the Osmond brothers house last night hehe. I got to meet a lot of members friday night playing volleyball, and our bishop runs fight club and used to be a stand-up comedian. I think I lucked out being placed here in Branson.
My comp/trainer is Sister King, and she has only been here for 6 weeks... so we are navigating this whole mission thing together! Which means I really have been thrown into the ring, and I'm teaching so much already. We live with the spanish sisters and they teach us spanish phrases everyday! We all bond over our love for Selena!
We have a mother and daughter that have been coming to church and on Sunday accepted our invitation to be baptized! I'm so excited to continue teaching them! Hoping for their baptism first week of October. We also met an ELECT investigator on monday and he is so eager and ready for this gospel! I have been finding miracles everyday, even if they are tiny.
A new member of our church, Ron, lives in a motel with his daughter Geneva. Last week he gave me a mustard seed in a tiny little bottle that he put together (I'll leave a picture down below), his testimony of faith is SO STRONG! He has been through almost every trial and still can't catch a break, he has inspired me so much and hearing him and his daughter's testimony is powerful!
Door-to-door finding can get tedious, especially when everyone already goes to a different church. From holding hands with someone in prayer on a doorstep to being bible bashed in front of a BBQ place, I have already seen and experienced so much here. Rejections can be kind of discouraging, so recently I have been telling people dad jokes after they decline my spiritual message. If I can't get em' to church, might as well make em' laugh. PLANTING. THOSE. SEEDS.
AMEN HALLELUJAH, SEE YOU NEXT WEEK
