SPRING IN SPRINGFIELD
Let me start this one by saying there is NEVER a dull moment in Springfield.
Here is an example... we are teaching this guy who used to be in every gang under the sun. He texts us saying he really likes the book of mormon. We respond with "that's awesome! what part?". He says "Alma 47:18, because I relate to Lehonti." We look it up and it reads:
"18 And it came to pass that Amalickiah caused that one of his servants should administer poison by degrees to Lehonti, that he died". Apparently our boy Steven has been poisoned over 10 times. Talk about a come to Jesus moment! Amen?
Oh and here is the demographic of some of our teaching pool: 75 year old lego collector, professional Romanian tennis player, ex-cartel member (breaking bad type beat), kraft mac n cheese employee. Check out that diversity haha! I love them all so much!
Anyway anyway, it's been a second I know. Here is what you missed:
Larry got baptized this past month and it was SO special! He came out of the water crying. Being able to see him restart and fully commit to the gospel has been the most rewarding experience. Him and Janie haven't missed church since they started coming in January woot woot!
Sheila got baptized last weekend! All of her family came and supported her. It was such a special day! I was filled with so much love and she was so happy!! Her husband Danny also loves me now because I like Iron Maiden. So we are workin on him too ;)
GOD IS SO GOOD!! I LOVE MY MISSION!! I hope everyone is doing swell! Keep L-I-V-I-N!!
