EXILE ISLAND

Wow! Hi! So much has happened since I last wrote one of these! I got banished (transferred) to the boonies of Missouri! After almost 11 months in the same zone I'm now in West Plains! I've been here for just over a week and I can surely say I stand out for having all my teeth. But don't worry I have been blending in by always having sunflower seeds in my mouth hehe. My companion is SISTER SLOAN!!! It is so fun being back with one of my MTC comps! 

We have definitely had some interesting interactions. There is this meth head lady who said we were sent by the devil. Walter White's number 1 customer for sureee. Then there is the homeless guy who was high as a kite during our lesson at the park! Gotta love it ;)

But for the most part, the people are so humble here and willing to talk to us! We have had so many miracles! The downtown square has fostered many wholesome interactions! One where we met a nice guy named Steve and he gave us his address and we stopped by later and shared a message with him and his mom! Another lady we are teaching, Marsha, is just the sweetest lady! Oh! And to all my spanish speaking friends- hola! Yeah yeah I am basically a spanish missionary now it's no big deal. We are teaching the head chef of the mexican place in town, Oscar! He speaks nearly fluent english but he has all these friends that want to learn english. Soooo we are teaching an english class wahoo! I'm learning a ton of new spanish words! Thanks to the members who speak spanish here and can help, also shoutout google translate

Other than the fact that I am here on exile island and see no missionaries... I LOVE THE COUNTRY! YEEEEEEE DAWG. I feel like I'm living in Napoleon Dynamite or something. I'm always looking for classic times and man I've found the place for em! 

2 Timothy 2:10-
Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory

Throughout my mission right before we leave the apartment every morning, I pray that we can "endure all things for the elect's sake". No matter what the day throws at us, I know it is worth it for people who truly need Jesus Christ and His gospel. I've seen Him change hearts and change lives. I love Him!

OVERWHELMED WITH LOVE

Home!  I am at a loss for words as I write this final email. My mission has refined me and helped me become what God wants me to be. I have never felt such immense love for Jesus Christ. And I have never felt such joy than I have from serving Him. I love my Savior and best friend, Jesus Christ.  As a lot of you know, Arkansas was not my dream mission. Days up until my mission I wondered if this truly was God's plan for me. A year and a half later, and I can say with confidence that I wouldn't trade getting called here for the world. This experience changed my life. The people of Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas hold a special place in my heart forever. I'm so glad I decided to serve.  Nothing beat closing out my mission at Zak's baptism just two days before I left. He shared how God has been his Guide and Jesus has been His light. I MADE IT TO ARKANSAS!

Guess what guess what?! After a year on the mission, I'm finally serving in Arkansas!  I was not expecting to leave exile island after 1 transfer, but I guess God knew I couldn't do the lack of socializing for too long haha. Although, I was bummed to leave Sister Sloan... it was too good to be true being back together again. I'm now serving in Pea Ridge, Arkansas! It's so cute! I'm also finishing training a new sister to the mission, Sister Fuller! I live in Bentonville and get to drive past the temple every night yay! The members here are powerful and I'm excited to get to know them!  As I got thinking about being transferred here, I remembered how much I love change. It keeps you on your toes! I love getting to fall in love with a new town, a new people, a new ward, and a new companion! I'm so happy to be here in Arkansas!! Woo Pig! Remember how much God loves you!  Keep L-I-V-I-N!! LIFE IS GOOD

Hey everyone!  Happy Thanksgiving! This week has been so good! We taught some fun lessons and we are having a blast. I am so grateful!  Watching Colby (who was baptized on November 15th) bless the sacrament this past week was a surreal experience that I'll never forget. This is why I am here. These moments make every bad one worth it. I love this work! Time is flying by! Wow. I've been trying my best to live in the present and just make the most of this last transfer. I saw this quote from Elder Wirthlin that said "worrying about the future creates unhappiness in the present". It couldn't be more true! I'm excited for what is to come but grateful for every second that I have left to wear my Savior's name on my chest. Also, if no one has told you that they are proud of you this week... God is!!
